What C&MA is;

The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) is an Evangelical Protestant denomination within Christianity.

Founded by Rev. Albert Benjamin Simpson in 1887, the Christian & Missionary Alliance did not start off as a denomination, but rather began as two distinct parachurch organizations: The Christian Alliance which focused on the pursuit and promotion of the Higher Christian life and The Evangelical Missionary Alliance, which focused on mobilizing “consecrated” Christians in the work of foreign missionary efforts. These two groups amalgamated in 1897 to form The Christian and Missionary Alliance. It was only much later during the mid twentieth century that an official denomination was formed.

As of 2006, there are 2,010 C&MA churches and approximately 417,000 members in the United States. Approximately 600 of those churches are described as intercultural. In Canada, there are 440 churches, 59 of which are multicultural, and approximately 120,000 members. In the C&MA 2004 annual report estimated that outside of the U.S. and Canada, C&MA membership exceeds 3 million.

    Hello Lee Family,

    My name is Melissa Leccese and I go to Xroads Fellowship in Clarksville, TN. Our Vision Team visited Mongolia this year. Our congregation would like to partner with your family to pray for your full time language study over the next two years. I hope that you arrived safely to Mongolia yesterday. When you get settled in a bit, please let us know more about your family, your needs, and how we can specifically pray for you. I would like to highlight your family in our first prayer newsletter edition of “Mongul hel mitqui”, which means “I don’t speak Mongolian!!”.

    I look forward to getting to know you better over the next couple of years as we pray you through your language classes!!

    Hello Jason and Ruth,

    I want to check back in with you on your language study progress! I would like to highlight you in the April 2009 language bulletin insert. Now that you’ve been studying these many months, please give us some very specific language struggles to pray for. For example, What sounds are you having difficulty producing and/or discriminating? Do you have any specific study techniques you are using that we can pray God’s hand upon as you use them?

    God bless you in your service to Him!
